At the Alpaca Trading Post, LLC, we offer alpaca sales and a variety of services with unwavering commitment to meet the needs of our customers:
Alpaca sales and financing: Our alpacas and breeding services are sold at the undercut edge of prevailing competitive prices, and we offer financing with flexible payment options tailored to the individual buyer's advantage.
Note: We do not broker animals for other farms. As a small farm, we maintain the privilege of doing everything ourselves, and, as a result we know our animals. Therefore, we are completely capable to fully answer buyers’ questions concerning the individual alpaca's health, reproductive history, personality, etc. You can rest assured that the alpacas we sell were produced by, or owned/co-owned by the Alpaca Trading Post, and they are backed with the security of our integrity and pride of excellence.
Alpaca breeding: We offer both, on-farm breeding service and mobile herdsire stud service.
Alpaca leasing: The trend of leasing alpacas is becoming more popular among breeders. To date we have not needed to utilize this option in our own breeding program, but if our customer wants to discuss the possibility of leasing one of our alpacas, we may certainly consider it. A female may potentially be leased until her cria is born, provided she continues to reside on our farm. If someone wants to lease a male alpaca, we may discuss the possible scenarios. Alpacas may be leased either for reproduction purposes (Lessee gets the cria) or solely for harvesting the fiber (Lessee gets the annual clip).
Alpaca agistment: By boarding one's alpacas on another breeder's farm, many an alpaca owner/breeder frequently enjoys the financial rewards and personal satisfaction & pastime of owning alpacas without the daily duty of caring for them and without the burden of buying/maintaining fenced pastures for their alpacas. We offer agistment.
After sale customer support: We help new alpaca breeders get started in the business and we provide support after the sale to our customers. We focus on the customer's individual circumstances to ensure the best possible outcomes and experiences for them; we typically give priority to their conveniences and preferences over our own. For this reason, our customers rely on us with confidence to assist them at the moment they need our help, in a manner that best fits them, and they remain loyal to us in return!
Transport: We may be able to aid in transport of your alpaca along route to Indiana or Ohio, as we typically make multiple trips to these states each year.
Shearing: Our annual shearing is organized during the spring of each year, whereby we enlist the help of family, friends and neighbors to accomplish the task of clipping each alpaca’s fiber in preparation for the hot summer, bag, tag and weigh the fiber from each alpaca – all in one day!
